Wild days at HCS!

What fun we have had at Holly Creek Studio the last few days! We have taken Bunny pictures, Sr Portraits, Family Portraits and Southern Girl Portraits. The Bunny felt loved and the Sr. was excited about a surprise! I have edited hundreds of portraits and gotten the Holly Creek Studio website up and running! I feel proud of these accomplishments and hopeful for the next couple of weeks. I have several prom sessions and get to try out all my props for a newborn session! It's fun to be excited about working hard! I love photography!!!!

Lilly Months 1-6

Being a grandma is all Encompassing! First 2 weeks

This has been and exciting year. On January 27th 2012 my first grand baby Lilly Grace was born! she is the most beautiful Gift God has ever given me. I Love her dearly. I have enjoyed photographing her through out her first year and i have spent countless hours hunting adorable poses, props and outfits. She is the most adorable model... I have decided to start a small photography studio here on the farm.I spent the day today cleaning out or family business' extra offices to house the studio. The lighting setup has been staring at me for a week... all lined up in my back entrance where I unpacked it. I am so excited to get it set up and start using it. for now I have been taking portraits outside. Here are a few pictures of Lilly I have taken through the year. 




Devan and I had a photo shoot to take BL ( before Lilly) pictures about 2 weeks before she arrived. 







We were all ready for her to get here so we could hold and snuggle her! She finally arrived January 27th. 

Papa could not wait to tell everyone the news "Lilly is here!"... He was in the operating room to see her be delivered!

New Scarf design!

I am very excited about my new scarf design I just listed on Etsy. I have made several for gifts and now I have finally finished one that isn't a gift or promised to anyone. I hope someone loves it as much as people have commented on the one I have been wearing. They are a lot of fun to make. I enjoy making them when I am watching TV at night with the family.. They don't like me you be a recluse upstairs. So it is nice to have a project I can work at on the floor in the den. I can only do a few of the designs and then wait till they dry a bit. I like that because my back gives out about the time I get 4 or 5 finished.... Summer is flying by!

Well I have two weeks of summer break left... I had big plans for my summer and I have not accomplished them.  I have had fun at the beach and at the St. Johns River on vacation. I have relaxed and recuperated from the long school year. Today, I even cleaned my studio and started decorating a stool for my classroom. It is going to be a very colorful place for me to perch. Speaking of perching, my finchs are doing well they have had two eggs hatch and Esher, Georgia and the babies are living in their new avairy. I built it out of an old gun cabinet. I have been thinking about ideas for my classroom door and my friend Lee's door. We are going to do a Pete the Cat and the Blue Dog theme. Possibly the theme in art this year will be artist who worked with a lot of blue.  I also have some really cool art ideas in my head. Paintings I want to create and I guess I should be up stairs painting right now. Only I was feeling guilty about not blogging, so here I am. I dream of getting more stuff on my Etsy shop and putting some framed prints in a friend of mines shop in town. Oh if there were two of me! One could clean and do laundry and the other could do the art! Well as it is one of the two things goes undone and lately it has been the art. I haven't had a lot of success on getting everthing clean either so I guess I could just go paint and forget the rest. HAHA then I could be on one of those TV shows about messy houses. That way I would get lots of exposure and I could sell lots of art work! HAHAHa!!!

I did IT!

I did it, I really did it! Painted a triptych, photographed it and listed it on etsy all in one day... I call that success! Now if I could sell it by midnight! Boy that would really rock... LOL!

It's a New Year already?

Wow! How time flies over the holidays. This was one of the best Christmas' in Tyler history.  Devan made sure of that. She made me so happy being at home with us. Ethan and all his smarticals got all A's for the first  semester of 10th Grade and that made me super happy as well. He is 9th in a class of 128 and still rising. Bazzinga  Ethan you rock!!! He and Dale have been duck hunting and deer hunting a lot. Last night, Ethan went with some friends and their parents "Coon" hunting with dogs! It was high tech because they had GPS collars on the dogs and tracked them instead of just listening for the Baroo wooo wooo! of the hounds... This week Dale flies for the first time to Kansas (yes it is 19 degrees there today) to pheasant hunt for the first time. I hope it is a fun trip for him and he stays well unlike last years duck hunting trip!!!
Well I made a lot of gifts with my art work this year and they were all loved by the recipients. But as for being ready to do a big show in the spring I don't think I will be ready yet... I am working on my art stuff but I think that goal is a little to big to reach so fast. Especially with school. I want to have everything looking right and not jippie so It is going to take a bit longer... Gotta go Hopefully it will not be so long between posts this time!
